To secure your place at LSU and successfully transition to campus, please complete the checklist of items below, and let your Admissions Counselor know if you have any questions.

Admitted Freshman Checklist

Click each checklist item below to view deadlines and how to complete each step. All items must be completed prior to classes beginning for your entry term.

1. Complete FAFSA

To apply for federal financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after October 1 as possible. You’ll need to enter LSU’s school code (002010) on the FAFSA.

In order for LSU to fully evaluate your comprehensive financial aid and scholarship package, you should submit the FAFSA as soon as possible.

Visit the Financial Aid website for more information.

2. Submit Enrollment Deposit

Once you have made LSU your choice, accept your offer of admission, and submit your non-refundable required enrollment deposit in your LSU Admissions Portal to save your spot in next year's historic incoming class.

The enrollment deposit must be submitted before you can complete any checklist item below.

Next Step: Create your MyLSU Account

3. Activate Your MyLSU Account

MyLSU is a personalized online resource center for all deposited LSU students. For incoming students, myLSU is where you will complete enrollment requirements, including housing, immunizations, online orientation, and more.

Follow the steps below to activate your myLSU account:

  1. Visit my.lsu.edu
  2. Enter your myLSU username in the “myLSU account or Email Address” space. (Your myLSU username can be found in your LSU Admissions Portal ex: mtiger1).
  3. Click “Forgot Password”
  4. Complete steps to create a password

24 hours after activating your myLSU account, you will be able to access your Housing agreement and the other myLSU features.

**Important** Anytime you login to myLSU, you must use your myLSU username. Do not enter your personal email address to login to myLSU. The system will not recognize your personal email address and not allow you to complete your required items.

4. Submit Housing Agreement or Request Exemption

Within 48 hours after activating your MyLSU account, you'll have access to the Housing portal where you will submit your on-campus housing agreement or request an exemption.

You do not indicate a roommate or select your specific residence hall on the housing agreement. However, the housing agreement determines your priority for Room Selection, which occurs in May or June.

You must submit either the Housing Agreement OR the Housing Exemption to enroll at LSU.

5. Register for Orientation

Bengal Bound Orientation is required for all incoming students in order to receive a course schedule for the Fall semester.

Registration is available in your LSU Admissions Portal.

6. Complete Immunization Requirement

Louisiana law requires immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus-diphtheria. LSU also requires a completed tuberculosis questionnaire for all first-time LSU students.

Louisiana Residents: LSU automatically receives immunization information for in-state students. In addition to having up-to-date immunization records, you must also submit the TB questionnaire to complete the requirements. You may complete this form, as well as check your immunization compliance status via the Patient Portal.

Non-Louisiana Residents: You must submit the Proof of Immunization Compliance form, which must be completed by a physician or healthcare provider. No separate documents or attachments are accepted. You may upload the completed form via the Patient Portal.

Use your myLSU credentials to log in to the Patient Portal.

For more information, contact the Immunization Desk in the Student Health Center, 225-578-0593.

7. Submit All Final Transcripts

Submit final official transcripts from all schools attended. This includes your final high school transcript, dual enrollment transcripts, and vocational or technical school transcripts.

8. Verify All Self-reported Test Scores

Submit verified score reports for all standardized tests. This includes ACT, AP, CLEP, IB, and SAT. These can be sent by your high school counselor, ACT, or College Board.

You may also send score reports via email to admissions@lsu.edu. These can be screenshots of your score report from your ACT or College Board portal. Ensure your name, test date, and scores are all visible. We recommend using a screenshot from a desktop, laptop, or tablet.

9. Complete Registration and Submit Fee Bill

Fee bills are generated about one month before the semester you plan to enroll begins. On myLSU, select “Fee Bill” under “Registration Services” in the main menu. Once you submit your fee bill and click "Complete Registration", you’re officially a Tiger!

10. Complete Vector Primary Prevention Education Requirement

LSU requires all first-time students under the age of 22 to complete the online Vector Solutions Primary Prevention Suite education, including two modules, prior to the first day of classes.

You will receive an email with details to complete the courses after you attend a Bengal Bound Orientation session. You will be pre-registered to complete the courses and can use your myLSU ID and password to log in.

The program contains two modules: AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. You must complete both modules and pass the post-test with a score of 83% or higher to meet the requirement.
